The Women s Christian Missionary Society gathered in an open meeting at the home of Mr and Mrs C P Smith last Thursday night. Husbands and other guests attended. The topic The Field of Tibet inspired members with lively discussion and even lapsed participants showed renewed interest. A social hour followed with enjoyable retreat and companionship. Bids Won for Bridge and Road Work Beal Brothers of Elmwood bid on bridge work near Mexico Creek east of Clear Lake and other Duck Creek projects. R Miller secured the contract for road work between Floria and Lorena.

Agricultural Club Debate Set for Next Monday

The Boys and Girls Agricultural Club of Meaver will hold a debate next Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The topic asks whether the Poultry Club benefits the community more than the Pie Club, with Layman Jones Hazel Sanders and Albert Ives on the affirmative and Hale Loofhourren Verna Swiger and Gladys Ford on the negative. Everyone is urged to attend.

Christian Endeavor Appears At Anniversary Program

Young people featured in a church program marking an anniversary of their organization. Mrs. Davie hosted the Bide-a-Wee Club meeting at Forgan, with Mrs Leonard as guest. Guest speaker Mrs. Andrew spoke on science, and refreshments followed.

The annual meeting of the U S Grain Growers Association was held in the courtroom Tuesday afternoon with about seventy of 140 members present. W B R Leonard was elected president and HT Metall secretary. Fred Ginter was elected as delegate to the district convention in about two weeks.
