President Wilson ends diplomatic relations with Germany over unrestricted submarine warfare. The nation unites across parties, ready to defend rights and honor with the spirit of 1776, 1861, and 1917 as war looms possible and citizens rally to support the country.
The heart of the community goes out to Mr and Mrs Art Quinn as their six month old son James died Saturday February 34 at 11 40 am after a three week illness. Death was due to inflammation of the stomach and bowels. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Christian church conducted by Rev L L Spaw with burial in Beaver Cemetery. The note of sympathy reflects the grief of many friends who share in the loss of their baby.
A revised B M and E schedule now links Beaver and Forgan with morning and evening runs to the W F and NW. Northbound and southbound times update with a stock train running Mondays from Beaver to Forgan and back. Night arrivals at Forgan are eased by direct through service. Promoters push a new oil venture by local businessmen seeking leases on 20 000 acres in the area.
Overton and Humphrey returned from a Ford trip to Oklahoma City in one day. They left Beaver at 6 am, dined at Ceiling, ate supper at El Reno, and reached Oklahoma City by 8:80 that evening. Fred Overton became manager of Magnolia Oil Company’s new station there, with Humprey in line for the station manager role.
Mrs RR Coffey of Beav er city dies at home after two weeks illness of pneumonia aged 79 born November 9 1855 in Boone County Missouri married November 22 1877 to RR Coffey survived by husband two children Mra Cecil Pratt of Columbia MO and K W Coffey of Woodward Rev and Mrs Coffey long residents of Beav er and Woodward are mourned by many Follows Christian Church and Eastern Star memberships services held at Undertaking Parlors then Halleville interment pallbearers named References Woodward News note and Herald sympathy to bereaved family
Geo H Wright former county assessor buys an interest in the Carson and Company real estate and insurance business and has begun work in the field. The firm stays at its former location with Mrs W F Carson partnering with Wright in the enterprise.
