Saturday brought a rare fit day as country visitors filled the town to shop. The streets were crowded and everyone seemed busy.

A planned patriotic meeting in Logan drew few attendees due to extreme cold, but locals remain eager to support War Savings Stamps as a funding and morale boost for the war effort. Regimental Sergeant Major Paul Wellborn, a Beaver native, returned to visit family in Forgan before taking duty at Des Moines and aiding National Army training. Other Beaver county youths departed for Camp Green and Camp Travis to join the war effort, while Art Thomas recovers from pneumonia and local health conditions show signs of improvement.
A local appeal in The Herald urges men to fund the Our Boys In France Tobacco Fund. Readers contribute 25 cents to supply American soldiers in France with tobacco, receiving a note from a fighting man in return. The Herald will forward funds weekly to New York, with shipments including 40 cent packages of tobacco and postcards thanking contributors.
M Phelps of Overland ownership secures corner lot at Douglas avenue and Second street, south of Carter Tracy hardware store. A 50 by 140 feet building will house a large garage and Willys Knight Overland showroom, adding major improvements to the street after a recent fire.
