The Board of County Commissioners held the regular monthly session at the week’s start, disposing of the major business. It was the second meeting of the new board, with Chairman Haskell of Unix district absent on a second term. The board’s handling of county affairs earns praise for reliability and capability.
A Monday night fire destroyed a small restaurant in Forgan next to the post office. Snow began falling Friday night and continued through Saturday and Sunday, delivering seven inches of ground covering. Despite a quiet, gentle wind, the deep snowfall improves soil for spring farm work and wheat health, though the period was late in arriving.
Mr Weyand suffered a light stroke on Saturday January 18 affecting his right side. With careful nursing he rallied and could move around, then worsened the following week with arm and head weakness and loss of control. By Monday a noticeable improvement allowed him to speak a few words as doctors hope for full recovery.
Mr and Mrs J E Mills were celebrated at their home 445 Southeast St with pink and green decor. Music and dancing featured. Lucille Holtman, bride, and J E Mills, a Stockton businessman, received many gifts as friends toasted the couple who will reside in Stockton.
Beaver School reports week ending January 81 1013 with total enrollment 172, 40 percent more than any Beaver County school. Visitors include Hulse Hughes and Schonian. High School boys beat Grade boys 8 9 6. Grade boys edged High School 9 6. White Rose Literary Society met. basketball trip to Halko canceled due to weather. Wright sick but recovered. Manual Training class received lumber. plans for April Educational Work and notable notebook work by students.

Sunday School each Sunday at ten o clock am followed by morning service at 1 pm. Evening preaching at 7 30 pm with the theme Why I am a Presbyterian and Power. Cras B Lanran Prator delivers. Welcome and come.
