At a state Republican meeting in Oklahoma City on Monday, "Big Jim" Harris was elected national committeeman to replace the late Jake L. Hamon. Harris won the selection by a vote of 19 to 27, with Mrs. Hamon also a candidate.
Workers gathered at the grade school grounds Friday to finish grading and level the area. They also improved adjacent streets. The Mother Club provided a fine dinner, and all participants deserve congratulations for this civic effort.
Beaver Chapter Order of the Eastern Star held its regular meeting and elected officers for the upcoming year. Names include Pearl Moller as worthy matron J A Miller as worthy patron Mildrnd Coles as associate matron Eva Meese as conductress Kiva Maple as associate conductress May Culwell as secretary and Myrtle Wells as treasurer.
A wedding in Shattuck on December 18 united Chit of Ht Bowie and Minx Correan Dru formerly of Boaver. The couple returned to Beaver recently and reside in the North Jewett home prepared by Mr Tevgle. The bride, known to Beaver Correan residents, is daughter of Mrs Panny Druw and sister of Cuff Drum. The groom works with his uncle Br L L Long at the Le B Drug Store.
