Beaver County updates include county attorney elect Spotnwar from Cling, business at the county clerk’s office, and various ads for goods and services. New tenants, sales on phonographs, farm loans, and holiday travel notes intermingle with local trades, cleaning, and excavation work.
Mise Cora Jane Davie Nowlin was born in Tennessee December 20, 1818. She married Jolia Nowlin of Vandalia, Illinois and moved to Beaver County, Oklahoma, in 1906 where she resided until her death November 28, 1910. A longtime Methodist, she suffered bronchitis for years yet died in hopeful faith. Survived by her husband, one son and three daughters including Mrs. Al Reddick of Beaver County. Interred Beaver cemetery with Rev. R. R. Coffey officiating.
Mrs. D. Gilkeson of Youngstown Ohio tells how her child suffered a severe cold and cough. A sister recommended Feley’s Honey and Tar, which relieved inflammation after one bottle. She now keeps a bottle at home and endorses Foley’s Honey and Tar, sold by F.C. Tracy.
Washington on December 19 Elmer J Fulton of Oklahoma City filed to contest Representative Morgan’s election. He cites a conspiracy to intimidate election officers enabling Black voters to cast ballots, uneven precinct division against law, and that polling places violated the 200 voters per precinct rule.
The report notes vote totals 1 870 and 1 072 with Morgan defeating Fulton. It mentions Fulton charges and delays in legal answers, plus a consumer testimonial for Electric Bitter promising cures for liver trouble dyspepsia blood disorders and malaria sold by F C Tracy.
Guthrie officials expect the state government to relocate to Oklahoma City after the governor signs the capital bill.
