Child Dies Near Gray After Roof Accident
A child of W V Wilson living near Gray died after a fall from a roof to a cement walk while playing on a weave. He climbed to a doorway eight to ten feet high, later grew worse, and died before reaching Liberal Kansas. The Herald extends sympathy to the family.

Institute Enjoys Picnic Near Beaver Cooperation Event
The Institute including the faculty, county superintendent, teachers and visitors enjoyed a picnic at Allen Grove southeast of Beaver on Wednesday. Free transportation was provided by Vern Coles, Commercial Club secretary, and the crowd departed after the afternoon session. They ate heartily, sharing watermelons donated at Mr Hill's suggestion. A splendid time was had by all.
