The town mourns Ray Hinkle nineteen son of Mr and Mrs J R Hinkle after a gunshot death at about ten in the evening near a friends home likely during a despondent moment or possible accidental discharge. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 by Rev L Shaw, burial at the local cemetery.
Notice to broom corn growers inviting all interested persons to form a local chapter of the National Association of Broomy Corn Growers and join the organizing effort.
Christian Church holds morning services at 10 and 11 with the Passover sermon on God’s punishment design. Evening temperance service led by the Christian Endeavor Society at 7:45. Pastors J O Miles and son Charles visit a ranch near Cline to tend a large hay crop this week.
Jacob J. Jones faced a preliminary hearing before Judge Meese on a note theft charge from LaKemp bank. The sole testimony suggested no offense, and the judge did not require Jones to be sworn, promptly discharging him and confirming his innocence.
Attorney Winters of Oklahoma City and Attorney Swindall from Woodward visit for professional business as neighbors Robertson and Gardner move into the Oscar Gardner property. Miatriot Corey and others noted in local circles.
J B Notion and family occupy the Bulick residence recently purchased. Clarence Kennedy wife and son visited from Knowles on Monday. Strong and family with Charles Chugg and wife moved into the Quinn property vacated by Clyde Greeaus.
Baydér based lecturer Moree conducted a school of instruction for the A. B. A. M. lodge this week. Ole McGord and family reportedly proved the Knowles, and McGord has been employed as principal of the Knowles School.
The first home gown roasting of the season hits the market in Beaver County with local pride noted. Pearl Heyeus resumes music instruction, opening a studio at Mrs. B. H. Mansfield’s home. Jas JH Crabtree and family visit Kiowa and spend Sunday with Mrs Crabtree’s parents Jolie Simms and family before returning Monday.
Mra De Lt Tong and her daughter Lenore left Monday for Wisconsin to visit relatives and enjoy a vacation by the lakes. The issue, Volume 1, Lambert, of the Heane and Bebool Visitor, was published by the Po Ast at Goodwell last week and regarded as a creditable edition and solid advertisement for the publication.

A new women’s group organized as a W C T U at the Christian church Friday afternoon, August tet. Officers include President Mrs HG Fellow Recording Secretary Miss Maude Thomas Corresponding Secretary Miss Rob Loolbourrow Treasurer Mrs W T Quinn. Meetings rotate Fridays at Christian and Presbyterian churches. The union aims to promote moral conditions and employ in the city with strong early leadership and broad citizen support.

From a Phoenix newspaper account, LT Mansfield died in San Diego on Monday morning after a period of poor health. Funeral services were held in San Diego with his widow and three children nearby. his son Ron arrived in time for the service. Mansfield, a Mason and member of Phoenix’s Beaver community, was a prominent figure with many friends who lament his death and extend sympathy to his family.
The citizen's meeting postponed by a storm was held Friday night at the Court House with a well attended program of band music vocal selections and talks by Judge R J Loot bourrow HC Fellow County Attorney Smit J B Swale and Mew Mrs Fellow presiding and J T Niles in charge of the devotional. It aims to hold similar meetings to foster civic improvement and moral progress in the city.
Ted Munden who was arrested last week in Gevensburg Kansas on a charge of removing mortgaged property without consent of the mortgagee escaped from county jail Saturday night while cleaning bath water. He was found Monday at his father's home southeast of Beaver and surrendered to deputies. He pleaded guilty before Judge Loofhourraw this morning and was sentenced to forty days in jail.
