Fifth Annual NC Colored Fair Opens With Parade and Exhibits

The fifth annual exhibition of the North Carolina Industrial Association for colored citizens opened under favorable skies. Officials report 480 entries across departments from crops and livestock to machinery and arts. A grand procession, bands, and speeches by Gov. Jarvis marked the opening. visitors from Raleigh, Henderson, Oxford, Danville, and beyond filled the fairgrounds, with northern guests praising the displays of craft, agriculture, and industry.
