Georgetown District Council Meeting Minutes 1939
Georgetown District Council held a meeting on Monday September 12 1939 with Dr J A Lyons as chair. Proposals included posting dog registration notices by Sept 21 and fines by Sept 30, authorizing F T Acott to sign cheques, appointing fire controllers, and appointing an auditor. The council discussed Red Cross circles, fire control needs, rail line grass burning, and notices to destroy horehound. Next meeting set for October 16 at 10 am.

The Crystal Brook Football Club will celebrate winning the 1935 premiership of the N A F A with a Victory Ball at the Institute on Tuesday. President B T Nancarrow and Secretary L G Harris attend. Nancarrow presents the Association Shield and General Motors Cup to Crystal Brook. Individual awards include the Mail Medal to Ken Noonan and Nancarrow Trophy to Jack Leesue. A local fund adds £12 10s for premiership team mementos.

Nuricotpa visitors were defeated 17 17 to 5 3 in a football match, followed by Barossa district dancers and plans for a Broken Hill Excelator Club visit with 35 players and supporters.
