Australia must grow manufacturing to strengthen safety and trade
Paul Cheyne argues within NSW Chamber of Manufactures findings that Australia can cut imports by boosting local production. A large share of £60,000,000 import bill could be made domestically, with £35,000,000 of goods produced in Australia. Growth in secondary industries would absorb migrants, increase taxation, and bolster defence. Refugee programs show Australian talent entering skilled manufacturing in Melbourne.
