District Council of Jamestown 1944 annual report review
The 1944 annual report to June 30 notes war front gains, anticipated peace, council elections with Dr FP Noonan replacing Cr Baynes, and unopposed re‑elections for Catford Hall Swearse. The council joined the Local Emergency Road Transport Advisory Committee to manage tyres and fuel, reports on war damage insurance nearing completion, and thanks officials and staff for their service August 1944.
