District Council of Georgetown meets on August 14
The Georgetown district council held its August 14 meeting with members including J Lyons MP Crs White Thomas Smart Tillbrook Browne Tilbrook and Clerk F T Acott. They discussed rail service requests to add trains between Gladstone and Adelaide and lighting upgrades for Yacka streets. Auditors reported reductions in rates arrears and steady finances with minor increases in rents and cemetery fees. Laura Hospital Inc offers an annual subscription fee of 10 shillings 6 pence that grants a 10 percent reduction on all fees incurred by the member as a patient. An annual subscription of 1 pound 1 shilling extends the same concession to the member's family. Members also gain a voice in hospital management. Annual Meetings Move to Rotating Centres
On motion by Mr Short the agenda paper's balance sheet was published and the executive advised to arrange after the war for annual meetings to be held at different Association centres. An Overseer's inspection day was also to be organized.
