Gladstone Street Improvements Linked to Electricity Expansion
The Electricity Trust plans to purchase several shops on Main Street south of Mr E Keller’s radio store to erect new offices, signaling future street improvements. The extension of electricity to Wirrabara Booleroa and nearby towns will drive demand for more housing at Gladstone, where housing shortages have persisted for years. Deaths at Crystal Brook report Mrs Sarah Dennis aged 71 and Mrs Edith Margaret Wilkin aged 53. The Gladstone Ladies Bowling Club recently visited Crystal Brook for the Dowling Club opening and also Port Pirie, with welcome remarks by local officials and club presidents.
