Town Notes From Georgetown and District Activities
A Georgetown diary of community life includes a June 17 farewell for Mrs. A. W. Brogan at Mr. B Freeman’s home, with her moving to Conniston near Wollongong. Patriotic work during the war, a silver gift, and social tributes mark the sendoff. The Baptist Women’s Guild hosted an American afternoon to aid Mission funds with Devonshire themes and music. The Agricultural Bureau's Women’s Branch met with lectures on Devonshire, sheep husbandry, and dairying, plus a gramophone recording. Football club events featured blackboard lectures by Mr. Frank Page, a dance for the accident fund, and a home match versus Callowie with notable players and scoring. The weather have been favorable with scattered showers and a generous rainfall.
