Georgetown to Sydney trekker passes through town in brief
Postman George Lockwood walked from Pre mantle to Sydney to establish a record. He rested with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Noll after tea, planning breakfast at Clare. He faced hardships near Pt Augusta and in the Tarcoola district, including a dog encounter. Wheat harvest lags, barley deliveries lag, and pests like rats trouble local farms. Digest: hospital patient Doug Phillis recovers after rupture surgery. Local notices mention school disappointment at Watervale, holiday visitors, and several family reunions. The town Bank of Adelaide hosts visitors, and the Swimming Club meets to discuss water supply and an offered electric motor.
