The Gladstone Rifle Club held its eighth Club competition on February 20 for the Page, Grubb and Hermann Trophies. A double round of ten shots and two fighters at 500 yards amid a strong right wind haze and dust. D. A. Flavel won the sweepstake with 98. P. A. Lines topped rifle scoring with 91. Other results list names and scores across multiple shooters in the field.

Caltowie Institute Sees Improved Finances At 67th Annual Meeting
The Caltowie Institute held its 67th annual meeting on Wednesday February 17 with President Mr D A Crossman in the chair. The report notes reduced debt to £212 0s 11d, a tighter balance, higher receipts in rents and subscriptions, and £38 11s 9d raised by the Coursing Luncheon. The year saw eight new subscribers and 2513 books plus 1426 magazines issued. 126 Lincoln chairs were purchased for better seating. officials from the Institute Association of South Australia visited. The committee acknowledges the secretary Mr Morton and treasurer Mr R Parri.
