Jamestown War Memorial Move Advances At Meeting
At a February 15 Jamestown meeting about 40 ratepayers debated whether the town should have the Institute taken over as a War Memorial. The Institute would run the library and the Corporation would manage the rest with a potential £200 annual guarantee. A poll was set for March 2 after initial votes showed 31 in favor and 5 against, with a petition later filed for the ratepayer poll.
