Strawberry Fete Proceeds Near Thirty Pounds At Yongala
The Church of England Strawberry Fete held November 17 at the Institute raised about £30. Mrs. Crowley of Peterborough opened the fete and spoke. Music by Miss D Georges accompanied dancing. winners included Mr A Fuller Mrs Hams and Mrs C H Bradtke. A Red Cross dance followed with visitors from many towns. Palais Glide winners were Mr T Howard Miss K Durward Mr Luck and Miss Cram. Mr Ran Sullivan served as MC with music by Miss M Deed and Ma Clancy. A sheep competition was won by Mrs Lamont. Mr F M Frost recovers slowly from a recent accident. longtime district figure Mr John Glasson died in Adelaide. The cricket and tennis teams have recess for harvest.
