Greenback Antimonopoly Party Convenes in Dickinson County
The Dickinson county Greenback Antimonopolists met in Abilene at the courthouse on September 12 at 2 p.m. to organize committees, nominate officers including Treasurer S. D. Pond and Sheriff Jos. Shadinger, and form a county central committee led by W. H. T. Wakefield. They adopted resolutions pledging adherence to the 1854 Indianapolis platform and structural reforms to curb monopolies and special privileges.
