A petition from Ridge Township Dickinson County Kansas dated August 4 1884 seeks approval to subscribe to capital stock of Topeka Salina and Western Railroad Company. It requests a nine thousand dollar township stock purchase with bonds issued for payment and a special election to authorize aid.
Dickinson County Board orders a September 6 1881 special election in Ridge township to vote on subscribing twelve thousand dollars in stock to the Topeka Salina & Western Railroad Company with bonds issued by the township and stock delivered to the railroad if the proposition passes. Ballots read For the subscription or Against the subscription. Proclamation to voters to be published for thirty days prior.
Sheriff J J Miller proclaims a general election on Tuesday the sixteenth day of August 1881 in Hope township Dickinson County Kansas to vote on a proposition. The notice cites County Clerk and seal and instructs to cast ballots at the usual general election place per law.
