A Dissipated Husband Ends His Miserable Life
A troubled husband, Edward Thompson, tried to shoot his wife in Holland and, after being thwarted by her sister, attacked her with an axe. He fled believing her dead, while his own life ended in a deep well. The wife, found comatose, survived a grisly attack as surgeons worked to relieve skull injuries. The report notes Thompson’s years of misery in marriage and his dissipated character.
