The Norton Democrat comments on Kansas growth and education, the 1880s prohibition debate, and national figures like Cleveland and Blaine. It condemns Republican spoils system, prosecutions for liquor law violations, and Governor Martin's militia call, predicting political defeat for Martin and his affiliates while praising Mr. Cleveland and Kansas advancement.
