The Topeka Democratic State Convention Opens

The Kansas Democratic state convention convened in Topeka on Wednesday May 28 in the senate chamber. Col J T Burris was elected temporary chairman and the party laid out a full slate for president and vice president and delegates to Chicago with Samuel J Tilden expected to be the standard bearer.
