A brief outing held yesterday in McMaster's grove honored Miss Allie Como's guest Miss Myra Parker. Guests enjoyed dancing and amusements at Miss Allie Como's Buckeye Ave residence, with attendees including Theo Keiser Cammie Winfield Ife Broder ie Della Thornton Helen Malott Allies Gary Carrie Brunson Lida Romig Lizzie Wilson Samie Wilson Myra Parker and Allie Como. William Masters, a Santa Fe railroad worker near Manchester, swore out a warrant for Patrick Coyne on assault and battery. Coyne, boss of the rival gang, allegedly mauled Masters, who bore scars as evidence. The warrant was handed to Bill Appleman for service, with Appleman reportedly arming himself in preparation for the action.
Two carloads of lumber arrived at the Santa Fe yard consigned to Floyd and White for Manchester and Abilene. The Manchester car was parked at the end of the track twelve miles north. Station Agent Lytch left on a business trip to Topeka. The Abilene Improvement Company stockholders hold their annual directors election next Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Board of Trade rooms. N K Hoffman of the Pacific Express Company has become a father. A young lady recently arrived at his home and will soon be calling papa for many things. The note ends with playful wishes that Hoff’s offspring grows up to be a fortunate member of the express company.
A Salina Herald communication signed Red Man drew hostile replies from Kaw and Shabbona tribes. Telegrams dated July 25 to 38 from Sarina Abilene and Salina deny authorship and condemn the piece. The messages accuse the author of trying to disgrace the company and urge readers to see today’s Journal.

E J Browning with sister-in-law Miss Fanny A Vage leaves for extended trip through Oregon Colorado and California. Annie Scherpe of St Louis telegraphed to arrive tomorrow. Mr and Mrs John Iarbottle depart for Longmont Colorado. Carl Potter noted as bookkeeper and quips about Yellowstone trip. A F Hart leaves for six weeks in California. George Holzworth of Kansas City arrives with malaria fever. Duke plans recovery on Kansas farm. Stomach cleansing pills from Barnes Northcraft advertised.
