Automobile Fire Destroys Oldsmobile After Water Tank Leak

A local auto owner, C. W. Anderson, saw his Oldsmobile burn to a total wreck after the water tank stop cock was opened, sending the engine and gasoline pipes to red heat. North Side Sewer Plans Ready for Rail Avenue Run

Italians Killed While Celebrating Fourth of July

Lead, July 6. The mangled bodies of two unknown Italians were found yesterday at Terry, three miles from this city. One man’s limbs were torn from his body, the other mutilated beyond recognition. They had been celebrating the Fourth of July and are believed to have died in a gin powder explosion.

Monseigneur Joseph Hasson, aged 76, rector of St John of Nepomuki in St Louis, a renowned Bohemian Catholic leader, died after a long illness.
