Nine climbers die as Mount Hood crevasse accident unfolds

Nine climbers plunge into a crevasse near Mount Hood summit. Three die and two are critically injured. A rescue helicopter crashes, injuring crew. two climbers with serious injuries reach hospital. Weather was favorable but high altitude resupply remains perilous.

Archdiocese admits negligence in Herek case
