American pilots rethink de-icing rules at DFW
American Airlines is examining its de-icing procedures at Dallas Fort Worth International after a New Year snowstorm caused up to seven hour delays for about 100 planes. Spokesman Al Becker said the carrier will explore faster movement through de-icing lines. Suppliers noted ice removal times rose from 25 30 minutes to 45 minutes for narrow-bodied planes and 75 minutes for larger jets on the busiest day.
