Stabbings in two early morning incidents in Texas City

Texas City police investigated two unrelated stabbings Saturday night. Natalie Hadley was stabbed in a fight with Shameka Henderson in the 200 block of Fifth Avenue North. Henderson was charged with attempted murder after a knife attack and posted a $10,000 bond. Hadley was taken to John Sealy Hospital in Galveston in fair condition. A second victim, Freddy Antonio Segovia of Galveston, was stabbed with scissors outside a bar in the 600 block of Fifth Avenue North by two Hispanic men who fled inside the bar.

Hitchcock Bayou Cleanup Draws 50 Volunteers

More than 50 Hitchcock residents and volunteers took Saturday to clear Highland Bayou of tires engine blocks bicycles and a gold watch showing strong community resolve. Organizer Marie Correll and Hitchcock City Commissioner Mark Morgan said county and city support aided the effort with equipment while volunteers cut debris with chain saws operating pickups. The cleanup aims to spur government action and raise awareness of bayou preservation in the area.
