West Nile virus prevention tips and myths
Mosquito protection focuses on DEET repellents and indoor activity at dawn and dusk. Eliminate standing water within two days, including paint cans, pools, gutters, pots, and buckets. Bug gadgets lack proven bite reduction. Change birdbath water, stock ponds with minnows, and consider larvicides in unavoidable standing water. Transmission between people or from animals is not possible.
