Spain was admitted to UNESCO by a 44 to 21 vote amid protests from four countries and abstentions from seven. The session saw resignations including director general Jaime Torres Bodet and Yugoslavia's Vladimir Ribnikar as budget tensions and dissenting groups sparked the shakeup.
S A Dodge of Detroit will accept the Poverello Medal for 449000 Lions Clubs members at the College of Steubenville Founders Day dinner on December 7. The award honors Lions for charitable social and civic activities named Il Poverello after St. Francis of Assisi.
A crowd of over two thousand attended the annual Community Thanksgiving Day Celebration at the Palace Theater on November 27.
