Austin enters not guilty plea in ISU case

Nine Die as Fire Ravages Baptist Towers in Atlanta
A deadly blaze at the 11 story Baptist Towers elderly residence in southwest Atlanta killed at least nine and injured 31. The seventh floor fire sent smoke through the building as residents evacuated, with at least 10 hospitalized. Fire officials traced the alarm to apartment 710 on the seventh floor where Alice Ross, 63, lived. The tower houses about 325 seniors aged 65 to 80 in self contained apartments. The fire was the third major incident in two days, following four deaths in New Orleans.

In New Orleans a 16 story building fire caused five women to leap from the 15th floor and four people to die. Fire crews attempted rope rescues and helicopter help with limited success as eight men remained trapped on a roof and arson was considered a possibility.
