President Nguyen Van Thieu asks President Nixon to meet in Washington to discuss direct talks on achieving a Vietnam peace settlement. Nguyen Phu Duc will carry Thieu's proposal to the U.S. leader for consideration.
President Nixon and Kissinger plan a 3 p.m. White House meeting with South Vietnamese envoy Nguyen Phu Duc amid talks over the Paris ceasefire. Saigon seeks face to face talks with Nixon and Thieu urges a December summit on postwar Indochina, with no formal plan announced at Camp David.

Terre Haute Park Superintendent Pat Dougherty said the Park Board may approve turning Dobbs Park into a nature area if allowed by the Dobbs family deed. He notes plans to remove eighty east side camping spots and replace with native trees and shrubs for educational use. The Park Board will study the proposal next Tuesday and Dougherty will seek federal funds to finance the restructuring.
Cash donations to the Tribune Star Basket Fund will aid Christmas baskets for needy families in Vigo County. Donors may drop contributions at the Tribune Star office 721 Wabash Ave and donations will be published. Applications for recipients must be made in person between Monday and Friday, December 15, 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm, at The Salvation Army Light House Mission Planned Parenthood Lockport Housing Project Big Brothers Big Sister and Hyte Community Center.
