Indiana Savings and Loan Plans New Downtown Office

The Indiana Savings and Loan Association announced a new 6,250 square foot building at 100 S. 7th St in Terre Haute across from its current site. Groundbreaking will occur soon with completion targeted for next June. The project, designed in Williamsburg Colonial style, includes a drive-up window and parking.

Gasoline Rationing Step Closer

Nixon energy group in a Tuesday meeting leaned toward rationing as a solution to the fuel shortage. Treasury Secretary Shultz showed less support for a gasoline tax, while officials questioned tax speed and effectiveness, and noted potential windfall profits if prices were left unfixed. Vigo County crossings eyed for automatic signals

Three Vigo County railroad crossings, among Indiana's 25 most dangerous, may gain automatic warning signals under a $500,000 1973 appropriation. The Public Service Commission heard the proposal and will rule within weeks. Crossings cited include Penn Central Maple Ave near 29th St, Penn Central 3rd St Sandford, and Louisville and Nashville 43rd St Otter Creek Township.

Cash donations to the Tribune Star Basket Fund support Christmas baskets for needy families in Vigo County. Donations may be mailed or delivered to the Tribune Star office at 721 Wabash Ave and all gifts will be published. Applications for baskets are available in person at the Salvation Army at 19th and Locust Streets between December 3 and December 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Truck Industry Faces Fuel Crisis Says Indiana Leader
