Explosion Endangers Continental 707 on Approach to Denver

An explosion and fire aboard Continental Airlines 707 threatened the jet as it neared Denver with seven crewmen and 63 passengers including Senator Clifford Hansen. Explosions at Mountaineer Coal Mine Rescue Progress Report

A series of blasts rocked Mountaineer Coal Company's No 9 mine near Mannington West Virginia.
