Woman Dies After Auto Crash Near Riley Road

Mrs. Rose Griffy, 44, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Anthony Hospital after a one car crash on Old Riley Road three quarters of a mile west of Highway 46. Her five year old daughter Teresa was listed in serious condition. Deputy Jim McKinney and Deputy Leonard Kirchner investigated. witnesses were scarce and a neighbor noted Griffy may have been taking her child to kindergarten. Continued on page 25.

Viet Cong Uses Tear Gas In ambush in War Zone C

An American patrol of the 1st Infantry Division was attacked with a nonpoisonous tear gas by Viet Cong in Tay Ninh Province near Suoi Day, marking the first known gas firing by the Communists in the Vietnam War. About 30 troops used gas masks as 1,200 gas grenades were found among 19,000 grenades at a captured enemy complex.

Sanitary Board Demurs In Suit Over Funds Investment
