Brazil Wreck Kills Two. Teens Hospitalized In Ohio Area
A car-truck crash on U S 40 at Brazil Ohio killed Michael Carter 17 and Darlene Hunt 14 both of Greenville. Four others were injured, including Terry Kouts 13 in critical condition and Patty Martin 14 with a broken leg and jaw. Also injured were Albert Johnson 20 and Dawn Martin 14. The truck driver William Fisher 54 of Cleveland was unharmed. Additional statewide incidents reported by AP include deaths of Clarence Little in Salem and Danny Malek in Crawfordsville and Carolyn Prater in Crandall.

One-Car Crash Sends Martinsville Man to ICU
A high speed one car crash in Riley sent Freddie D. Babbs 27 of Martinsville to St. Anthony Hospital in critical condition. Babbs suffered multiple injuries including a broken ankle chest injuries and facial lacerations. Passenger Ronand Parrish 22 of rural Spencer remained hospitalized with a broken ankle and possible broken arm. Indiana State Police will file charges including speeding and driving without a license with possible alcohol related counts. Parrish told police Babbs had been drinking before the crash.

Three Hurt in Clinton Fire

Fire Claims Life Of Four Year Old In Gospel Grove
A blaze at a Gospel Grove residence five miles east of Terre Haute killed four year old John Raymond Ledbetter. He was found under a bed upstairs and died after resuscitation attempts and transport to St Anthony Hospital. Fire Chief John Galey says damage is about 5 000 dollars and the cause is undetermined. Ledbetter said his son may have been playing with matches.
