Couple Killed Instantly In Truck Car Crash
Earl Edgar Taylor and Olive Taylor, aged 40 and 37, of 1518 Wilson Street, died Friday evening when their car collided head on with a semi truck 500 feet west of the Wabash River bridge on U S Highway 40. Taylor’s brother Charles Taylor, 32, of 1134 South Sixteenth Street, is seriously injured at St Anthony Hospital. Truck driver William La Roche, 51, of Indianapolis, was treated and released for an injure d left shoulder. Police say the Taylors, parents of three, were pinned in wreckage. both Taylors and their employer Deep Vein Coal Co. are referenced in the report. Doctors at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City report a blood flushing operation saved a newborn girl born by Caesarean section to Nadine Robertson. Man Who Abducted Two Given Life Sentence
Paul Barton, 37, of Muncie, was sentenced to life in Indiana State Prison after a nine to three Delaware Circuit Court jury found him guilty of kidnapping C. K. Freeman, 27, and Mrs. Elaine Teener, 38, at a Muncie tavern. He was charged with armed robbery of $1,100 but not tried on that count. CHICAGO May 7 Rodney Brodie head joined Siamese twin who survived separation 242 years ago is in grave condition after an unexpected setback. University of Illinois Research Hospital says the 32 year old boy has a brain hemorrhage with no apparent brain injury and cannot determine the cause. Rodney has been in a coma since Friday. He lived at Ferris Illinois before returning to hospital after lethargy. Surgeons found internal bleeding in an exploratory operation Thursday. the setback was disclosed Friday night. Rodney and Roger born Sept 16 1951 were separated in a 12 hour 40 minute operation on Dec 17 1952. They shared a sagittal sinus. Rodney received the vein after a difficult decision by the 15 member team. Roger died 34 days later. Until recently Rodney was the only head joined survivor.
