Vigo County Library Board appointments slated before July 17
Two four year terms on the Vigo County Library Board will be filled soon with Ned Bush Sr. and George Duncan in line for replacement. The Vigo Circuit Court Judge will reappoint Bush, while the Vigo County School Corporation boards will choose the second appointee at its Wednesday meeting. Markle House Sold to Vigo County Historical Society
The Markle House built in 1848 near Terre Haute was sold to the Vigo County Historical Society Inc. The house, a Greek Revival two story brick dwelling with historic ties to Markle's Mill and Underground Railroad use, will be restored into a future museum. Open house is planned Sept 24-25 during the Fall Antique Flea Market on the front lawn.
