Potato and fruit prices decline as supply improves
Prices for potatoes and several hot weather fruits fell amid rising supplies and late-week market arrivals. Wholesale and retail potato prices eased to about ten cents per five-pound bag, with Virginia spuds entering Eastern markets and competing with California and Carolinas. Fruit prices eased too as cantaloupes, watermelons, cherries, blueberries, raspberries, and peaches moved briskly.
