Lustron Corp Taken into RFC Custody by Federal Judge
In Columbus on June 17 the Lustron Corporation, debt-ridden after defaulting on 37.5 million in government loans, was placed in the possession of the Reconstruction Finance Corpora tion by order of U.S. District Judge Mel J Underwood. Deputy U.S. Marshal Ralph S. Quelette took custody from receiver Clyde M. Foraker after Judge Philip L. Sullivan of Chicago had sought to block the transfer. Sullivan postponed a July 3 hearing on dissolving the injunction that backed the Lustron creditors. The RFC now holds the plant pending a higher court ruling on the action.
