In Emporia Virginia Charles Pritchard a 46 year old railroad foreman delayed today’s flight attempt of his homemade wingless airship after a nose wheel shimmy. He plans another try in 10 days or two weeks once the nose wheel shake is fixed. About 11 500 onlookers had gathered in town to watch the event.

In a June 2 interview with reporters in Peiping Chou En-lai asserted Taiwan is China’s territory and linked a cease fire in Formosa to advancing negotiations between Peiping and the United States.
