Re-hearing Sought Over VC Area Plan Controversy
Lawyer for the VC area plan asks for a re hearing while noting plans to confer with Beasley and other commissioners. The 1960 board members include Pfister Cox Ring Roberts Harlan Gettle Cuvelier Busby Brentlinger Thomas Becker resigned in 1961. The State Supreme Court said no action could be taken without a request for appropriation. Litigation began in 1960 as the commission pressed the county council for operating funds, which were consistently denied. Lewis and Lewis argued the commission failed to file an itemized budget. Beasley claimed the council was required to approve appropriations.
