Former Terre Haute businessman "Happy" Jack Chandler is in extradition proceedings from Birmingham Alabama. Prosecutor Ralph Berry says Chandler swindled residents of about $50 000 while operating Merchandise Lane Fourth and Cherry streets and Chandler Sales. He used aliases Jack Foster and Jack Silvers and was arrested in Birmingham after an extended investigation led by Detective Art Loudermilk.
