Investigators Probe Cause Of Industrial Tank Explosion
Investigators searched for the cause of an explosion at Western Tar Products in Terre Haute that killed two workmen, Charles E. Owen and Charles T. Mancourt, who were on top of a tar tank. The blast hurled them several hundred feet and shattered windows. no other injuries were reported. Owen’s funeral arrangements were pending, and Mancourt’s obituary note mentioned his status as a Vietnam veteran.
