Israeli Planes Strike Syria in Major Air Raid
Waves of Israeli warplanes attacked Syria for the first time since 1967 in a two hour air battle. Israel claimed one Syrian MIG17 down and no losses, while Damascus reported dropping two French built Mirage jets and said 20 civilians were wounded. Boy 16 Gets 1 to 10 Year Prison Term
A 16 year old Terre Haute boy was sentenced in Vigo Circuit Court to 1 to 10 years at the Indiana State Reformatory on a robbery charge. Judge H Ralph Johnston expressed disbelief at sentencing a boy so young, as the youth’s pregnant wife looked on. The robbery involved Meissl Bi Rite Grocery and an air pistol yielding about 200 dollars. Co defendants Snow and Grayfess face trial next week.
