Union Hospital Expands With 1.2 Million Hill Burton Grant

Union Hospital announces the first phase of a 15 year expansion funded by a 1,196,888 Hill Burton grant routed through the Health, Education and Welfare Department. The four level wing will add 126 beds to the current 259 and house a total energy power plant supplying heat, electricity, steam, and air conditioning. Architects Ewing Miller Associates designed the project and plan a master expansion over 15 years to meet community needs with a 18 to 24 month completion for this phase.

Indictment brought against MNB official for embezzlement

A former Merchants National Bank official, Charles W. Eaton of Clinton, was indicted in Indianapolis on five counts of embezzling $1,164.47 from the Terre Haute bank where he served as assistant cashier. The grand jury also returned indictments charging tax evasion.
