Vets Watch Service Pay Cut Proposal

Washington AP reports Nixon plan to trim veterans pensions and cut education and medical programs faces opposition from Congress and veterans groups. The plan targets VA hospital funding, college recruiting aid, medical research, and payroll cuts possibly consolidating 57 regional offices into 10. It also proposes changing pension calculations to include a wife’s income, reducing benefits for higher earners.
