Ski Train Crash Kills 20 Near Waedenswil

In Roberts Illinois a father Loren F Townsend principal of Roberts High School and his two sons Stephen six and Rogers three died in a house fire. Frank Lyons the adjacent high school janitor made three rescue attempts crawling through flames to pull Townsend and the boys from the burning home but all three died. Lyons suffered facial and neck burns but did not need hospital care. Mrs Townsend was away shopping at the time.
