U S intelligence reports hundreds of tanks and thousands of fresh troops added to the Laotian supply trails, with some heading toward Saigon and the Central Highlands. A second fuel pipeline is planned to boost oil and gas flow, despite the cease-fire limits inside South Vietnam.
Vientiane radio announced that a cease-fire agreement for Laos has been reached and will be formally signed in ceremonies in Vientiane at 11 a.m. Wednesday local time. Details of terms or troop withdrawals were not provided, with no supervision plan described. The Pathet Lao and government negotiators led talks aimed at halting fighting amid North Vietnamese support. Prince Souvanna Phouma said he could not accept the cease-fire as presented.

INDIANAPOLIS AP The Senate Finance Committee moves to fix gasoline tax issues, expand the general fund, and end the corporate tax loophole as it prepares five hearings on Bowen's property tax relief plan. The panel approved extending the sales tax to gasoline and cigarettes and ended plans to tax motion picture tickets for now.
Commercial Solvents Corporation announced a $10,000 corporate gift to the Terre Haute YWCA Building Development Program. Thirty nine suspects arrested in weekend drug raids faced action in three courts.
